A long Walk

by Scythe   Jun 13, 2005

When I speak you always listen
When you smile it always glistens

When I’m alone my thoughts they torture me
I try to find a distraction, a way to pass the time without thee…

But my efforts are to no avail
Somehow I find a way to fall just short of perfection and inevitably I fail….

I give my all to leave a grand impression but something always seems to go a rye…
I search myself for those magic words, the ones that you can’t deny

And with each new meeting, my heart a-beating I simply ask for reciprocation
Hoping that I have not wasted my hard work and determination

And as I walk and the wind swims by, I feel this emotion sought out by millions

With each step the burden grows greater, the wound grows deeper, and the hill it seems has grown much steeper

But as the sunsets and I rest my head,
My face still draws a frown, and my chest a heavy sigh…
Not knowing all the Reasons why…

That is an awesome poem, I love it. I think it's categorized wrong, it shouldn't be in the funny poems. But still, I'm adding you to my favourite list now.. great job! =D
