Emancipation Of My Dreams

by ntv650   Jun 13, 2005

I walked a silhouette against the black clouds, a ghostly vision against the wretched sky.
Could not help but stare at all the rare sights I found.

First was a pillar, tall and out of stone, though cold to touch it emanated a warm glow.

I found it set in sand so black it made the sea white.

In the distance I could hear a slow, shallow laugh;- Mocking me.
--
My second sight empaled upon a jade stake,- was a beautiful deer.

I watched it’s white and purple coat gradually stain in blood and tears.

It cried so sorrowfully that I wished the world would hear.

Who are we? What man could survive the pain this dire creature feels?

Mercifully I broke the poor creatures neck, it thanked me with the silence that followed the break.
--
The last sight I beheld with no great surprise. It was a giant tree.

With branches forming arcs and curves so slender I could not help but touch them.

Ember roots and ruby leaves adorned this emancipation of my wildest dreams,- in a fantasy world that exists purely as a methapor to remind me what is real.
