I'm sorry I can't be perfect, Dad

by highschoolgirl   Jun 14, 2005

I'm sorry i can't be perfect dad
I can't be the child you want me to be
I'm sorry I can not satisfy all you want
And I'm not the child you wished

I'm sorry I am childish
And not the grown up ou expect to be
I'm sorry I'm always sick
Not the healthy one you see

I'm sorry I'm lazy
Not the industrious child you plea
I'm sorry I'm lousy
Not the careful child you heed

I'm sorry I'm full of scars
Not the beauty you want me

I'm sorry I just can't be perfect
For I am a person only

A child still growing
And trying to find herself in me

A child still full of questions
Trying to fill her imperfections

And that child is me
Your daughter, daddy

And I'm sorry for not being that perfect child you want me to be
