Promised land

by Fiona   Jun 14, 2005

You chose to walk the path of life,
Without me by your side,
But while your path awaits you,
So clear and long and wide,

My path is full of hazards,
The brambles scratch at me,
The ground is heavy underfoot,
I see nothing but trees

You stride ahead on your path,
So happy and so free,
but my path is haunted by memories,
of what we used to be,

I'm alone in this huge wilderness,
I can't see any light,
No matter which way I seem to turn,
I never get it right,

I walk around in circles,
My bodies getting weak,
Can't cope with all these feelings,
My future looks so bleak,

I just cant carry on any more,
It goes dark -I just collapse,
I lie there tired, broken, sobbing,
And just hope that perhaps,

As I watch you walk your path alone,
You'll realise its no fun,
to walk the path of life alone,
And then the time will come,

When once again our ways will cross,
And you will find me there,
Lying by the wayside,
My heart and Soul laid bare,

You'll pick me up and love me,
And take me by the hand,
And we'll walk your path together,
and find our promised land.

Pls rate/ comment -I think this is one of my best.
