Would you tell my secrets & break my heart?
Maybe you’d backstab and tear me apart!
Will I make you a part of my life?
If I did would you cause me strife?
Will you always be by my side?
Or are you only here for the ride?
Would you swim oceans to dry my tears?
Would you be there in the night to ease my fears?
Would you make mountains to make my departure slow?
Would you lay the path down just to let me go?
This is what friends do
That is why they’re here
Even if you don’t have a clue
They are the angels that make your sky clear
Are you ready to take this oath?
Are you ready to be my friend?
Will you create joy for us both?
Will you be there until the end?
I hope you never put your man above me
Because then you will have forgotten your responsibility
Friendship before love, that’s how it has to be
Are you ready to put your man after me?
You nod your head and I smile
I suppose I’ll be happier for a little while
Swear on your heart that you’re ready for forever
Because that’s how friends stay, always together!
