The Storm

by Ashley Redden   Jun 15, 2005

The rain beats the tin roof over head
The best sound that could ever be heard
As the moment fades away
The next minute I always dread
Nothings spoken
Not a single word
Just the sound the the tears that I shed
And the gasps for breaths in between
The strong wind off the storm
Blows through my window
Makes the curtains dance around
Casting shadows on the wall
Nothings more prettier
Than the lightning lighting up the sky
Or nothing better than the rumble of the thunder
That sounds off with the down pour
I walk out in to the storm
Dance around in the rain
Like theres not a thing in the world to hurt me at the time
My tears flood down from my blurry eyes
Like the rain pouring down
But no one can notice
Or be there to wipe them away
Cause it no longer matters anymore
The rain always brings some kind of temporary happiness
Like its washed that old soul away
But thats to good to be true
Cause this life I lead can no longer be turned around
