As the solider Marches....

by Ed   Jun 15, 2005

The wind kicks a little,
Young boys play the fiddle.
The war tolls on,
For the boys of war, this is their song.

Barley eighteen and ready to fight,
All alone hearts beckon in the night.
The bullets stream by day,
As the air flourishes with decay.

I am saddened by these course of events.
But this war, I cannot prevent.
Two sides are drawn and the terms met.
Angered sides have much to fret.

Five years the war ages,
As the prisoners sob in their cages.
The dawning of a new age arches,
all the while, as the solider marches...
