The eighth grade speech

by Megan   Jun 15, 2005

It was a little weird
walking up the stairs
in my heels and dress
I was kind of scared
All those yes looking at me
wondering what
they'll see

Well they saw a girl
taking one look
at the crowd
smiling for the cameras
and taking a look
at her cards.
suddenly the nervousness,
the jitters and scariness
went away
she felt so good and ready
to speak her speech away
As she started to talk
about eighth grade
she had a good start
she talked about people,
all sorts of people
the funny, smart
and athletic

I talked about choices,
we all need to make
the choices I made
some regretful
and the choices I'm happy
I didn't make
As I turned to the last card
I looked up and saw my parents
they looked so proud
their eyes and smiles showed it so

As she said her final words
the crowed erupted into applause
she looked so proud

I didn't feel proud just for me
but for my whole class
they almost all passed
at least the one
standing there that day
As I walked off the stage
I had a feeling
high school
would be OK.

*This may be confusing........if you didn't figure it out already. I switched perspectives every paragraph. I went from the perspective of myself to the perspective of an audience member....please rate and feedback. Thanks!*
