Destiny Of My Hurt

by SWAPNIL SAWANT   Jun 16, 2005

Another spear to my wounded heart,
Don’t know how much more I can take.
But a stable face, I have to fake,
Coz a friends’ day I have to make,
Promises to keep,
And expectations to fulfill.

A voice from inside bellows,
“ You can’t ignore me for much long,
I have always been ignored,
And kept in corner of your heart,
But now the space is not enough,
And I need a way out.”

“Who are you?” I ask.

“ Oh I am sorry,
I forgot to introduce myself,
I am the hurt inside you.
It’s a pleasure to meet you!
But now I need to go,
Like the transformation in to a butterfly,
I need to transform into tears.
And it seems like I have been waiting for years.
Sometimes I have almost come upto your eyes,
But you always stopped me,
Reasons ranging from studies,
Or shouldering a friend,
Broken heart you did mend,
And foggy eyes you did wipe.
But now it’s my turn,
Don’t stop me this time,
Let me dribble over your skin,
And onto your friends’ palm,
Or his supportive shoulder.
That’s my destiny.
Objections, any?”

I say,
“ Your destiny was to be hidden,
Until others of your kind,
Met with theirs,
But now I can’t hide you anymore,
And soon you will be on my cheek,
I hope my friends don’t consider me weak.
And if they do,
I wish you could speak.
And tell them,
That once in a while I need to cry,
Because things seems so dry,
That It’s only my tears
That moistens the situation.
Thank you so much!”

“Hey hurt, could you just wait a bit more,
A friend in need just knocked my door!”
