Aching For the Blade – 22/05/2005

Are you aching for the blade?
Just to slit into your wrist,
Deep into skin into your vain,
As you clench your fist?

Are you wanting to hurt yourself?
Or someone around you?
It will hurt you more than anyone else,
If you don’t succeed so think this through.

Do you really want to have a scar?
That every time you look it takes you back,
Back to the day when you slit your wrist,
Wanting everything to go black?

Do you break down?
When you look at those very scars?
Do you feel regret and hate?
Do you feel that you’re locked behind bars?

Have you realized yet that this is wrong?
That the scars with stay but the pain will go,
But only the pain of the scar not the reason,
So think this through.

One day you will be happy and have moved on,
But you will be hiding the marks from your kid,
You new friends and maybe even family,
Your future husband or wife you can’t always close the lid.
