How can I tell?

by Flying Phoenix   Jun 16, 2005

Looking out of the window,
As time passes by,
I sit and wonder
How I can know why

The trees pass in an endless stream,
My thoughts mixed with hopes and dreams

I think about the way I see,
But how can I know
By the way you look at me?

Do I have to sit and wonder,
For the rest of my life?
Or do I do something about it?
Do I dare hope that you like me in that way?
Or am I falling for the trap

My mind tries to say

I have fallen before,
Down that endless road.
But when people talk,
Do I believe what they say?

The need of straight thinking
Has come to me fast
Yet all I want
Is an answer at last

If it is not meant to be,
Then tell me straight,
And I can try to forget you
But still be your mate

My mind breaks apart,
From the constant tears
The question is now,
How can I tell?

a very good poem. when you find the answer can you tell me too? i could use it aswell...oh yeah...about the poem. very nice. it has a very nice flow and rhyming pattern, good imagery too. and a meaning alot of people can reflect onto their own lives, which is always good in a poem! i have now given a comment on every poem :D hopefully when you get back from cornwall you will love me. i am bored and i thought what better way to waste my time than to make somebody happy when thewy see 13 little red numbers by their poems! so i did. if you ever get bored read sweet enigma's poetry, it is very very good, and we need her to write more too! or alternatively you could read mine, but that may bore you out of your skull and may result in more 'pah.hmph.''s. i will leave you alone no. dont hate me for commenting on every poem! :D

    love ya always
