Can't stand you

by Lost Girl   Jun 16, 2005

Behind your back we whisper, spreading tales, spinning lies
I wonder if you already know, or when you’ll realize
Do you hear our evil rumors, can you hear our snide remarks?
Are you aware of all the things we say, or are you kept in the dark?

Do our words sting you, like a dart with a poisoned blade
And if you heard what we said would you still feel the same
I don’t mean to be so cruel, as you cling on to my arm
But each time you touch me something in my brain sounds an alarm

Why did you leave your real friends? Pretend like they were mean
To join up with my friends, and that other world you had seen
I watched you recreate yourself, re-inventing your identity
Did you just want a change, what exactly did you want to be?

I hate the way you change yourself, just to fit in with the crowd
Try to be your own person, an individual, you really are allowed
When you pretend that you understand and laugh at our jokes
I start to feel such a strong hate for you that I feel almost choked

So we all laugh and joke about you, you just keep us entertained
We don’t stop to think that maybe we will eventually cause you pain
I truly wish that I didn’t hate you, in the awful way that I do
But please just give me some space, ‘cos I cant stand to be with you
