It Hurts

Holding on forever hurts,
Especially when all the scars
Have come back to haunt me.
It seems that I have to please them all.
Be happy all the time.
Hide what I truly feel
Hide the real me
The me people never see
The one behind closed doors.
I try so hard
To make them happy
Yet I try so hard
To make myself happy
But in the end,
I always fail.
The tears always come,
The smiles always leave.
Holding on hurts,
Especially when I have all the right reasons,
To let go.
