The Loss...Of a Loved One...For All

by Ren   Jun 17, 2005

They were always there for you,
And always gave good advice,
And never turned their backs,
Even when you were not nice.
They patched your broken heart,
They healed your hidden wound,
With a smile and kiss,
To fight your doom and gloom.
You laughed with them,
And sometimes cried,
They hugged you close,
Even if you lied.
They held you up,
When you felt so low,
They held your hand,
And never let go.
Your loving family,
Your go to vice,
Their little bit of Sugar,
And their little bit of Spice.
It's hard to believe,
That now they are gone,
Without a single word,
Just a silent "So Long".

So true are your words, "little bit of sugar, little bit of spice."

I miss my dear ones too.

Thank you so much for the comment, Ben!
It is really easy to take advantage of our loved ones and forget to appreciate what they do. It is always nice to tell people they are loved and appreciated, because you never know what life can throw at you.
    Thanks again and take care!

    Ren,
Another thoughtful poem here that reminded me of your recent winner in its sentiment: Sometimes we just don't appreciate people and their efforts - in this case, until it is too late.
A great little piece of writing that got me thinking.
All the very best and I hope you are well,
    Ben
