Fights and battles, battles and fights,
Absolute terror throughout the night.
Watching my life, wither away,
Breaking, piece by piece, day by day.
From the darkness troubles come,
Not all at once, but one by one.
Lacking the wisdom that God supplies,
They lure me in with all their lies.
Just like a boxing match I fight each round,
As the bell dings with its echoing sound.
First temptation, it's coming to deceive,
disguising itself, and so I don't see.
It brings me in, with all of the of the traps,
And almost defeats me when something just snaps.
Temptation is defeated, and I'm free at last,
All of a sudden, another trouble is past!
But soon comes pain, with heartaches and sorrows,
Making me feel like there is no tomorrow.
In my times of loneliness, friends are what I had,
So I reached out to them, when everything was bad.
The troubles not over, there is one more plot,
As one more comes, fun i know it is not.
One of my friends say they cut with a knife,
It takes all their happiness and eats away their life.
Closest friends pass away,
Leaving me breathless, I don't know what to say.
there is one thing I learned from all of these rounds,
That's to turn to the One who wears the crown.
Turn to God and don't sit and pout,
Everything seems to "work itself out."
Life is brutal, situations everywhere,
Yet I made it through, it was hard to bear.
But I turn to the Father in the heavens above,
And he looks down on me with his eyes of love.
