Far off, somewhere-
Quite a way over there-
I can see it;
Can you, too?
A break in the clouds,
A patch of the sea;
The light out of its shrouds
Brings such peace to me.
Thick raining drear
Plays foul all day…
One can hardly hear-
Such numbness comes with gray.
But way out there,
Just beyond my reach,
Is a shower of gems laid bare,
And it's not here on this beach.
Sparkling, shining, singing-
My eyes, even my ears are ringing.
I stretch, but cannot touch-
Sometimes I just want too much.
