Pushing me Away

Please comment or vote, I'm still beginner, and looking for any insight I can get. I would greatly appreciate it, more than you know...

You told me you'd forgiven me,
For everything I've done wrong,
You told me that you'd forgotten it all,
The mistakes I made were long gone

I tried my best to believe you,
I tried to be the person I used to be,
I took responsibility for everything,
I thought that was enough for you to notice me

But now you walk on past me,
As if I am not even there,
As if I have no importance,
But obviously you don't even care

I try to be the person I was,
The one you befriended long ago,
The person who you trusted and cared for,
The person you used to know

But it seems that no matter how hard I try,
You still don't want me around you,
You try your hardest to avoid me,
Is this really true?

But you ignore me anyway,
But since when do you ever care,
You're pushing me closer to the edge,
You're leaving me out in the middle of nowhere

Can't you see I'm hurting?
Can't you see I'm in pain?
Or are you just to blind to see,
Since you look at me with disdain

If you were to open up your mind,
And take a look and really see,
I'm crying and bleeding on the inside,
Just for you to accept me

If you were to just give me a chance,
You would be surprised to see,
That I am not as bad as you think,
But since when do you ever believe me

I don't know why I bother,
I guess I never have a chance,
How am I supposed to regain trust,
If you are all still in this trance

I wish that everything was the way it was,
I've trying my best to do so,
But you continue to push me away,
I'm stuck in the undertow

At first I was to blame,
I was the one who messed everything up,
But now that I've taken responsibility,
I don't see why there is this mix-up

You may want to avoid me now,
But you just wait and see,
Wait until that one day I'm no longer here,
And then we'll see what you think of me.
