The Meaning of Life

As he sits up on his rooftop, of that rickety old home

His mind wonders and wonders, to what and how beauty in life has been shown

And onto things, too advanced, too complicated

For him to have even contemplated

He thought to himself The Meaning of Life

Leaving his mind poked and prodded, and quite aggravated

And as he ponders this perplexing thought

He looks onto the horizon, to the warm glowing sunset and is instantly reminded

Of thoughts of the sweetest girl, the boy had ever known

Thrown into his life, like nothing he’d ever seen, nothing he’d ever been shown

Thoughts so loving as they ever were, as ever they will be

The image of her, the scent, the sound, the touch

All in all so visibly vividly clear, in his mind he could see

The tenderness and elegance in all her motions

Her gaze, her tempting, enticing, and inviting gaze

That he can’t help but stare towards, to be drawn to and stand amazed

Onto the beauty, the aura, that at times surrounds her

When the setting sun hits her just right

Highlighting her beauty in shadows and light

With the simple smell of her bitter-sweet perfume

All making the boys heart pitter bit by bit, a little harder then resume

With the touch of her lips and skin, delicate and passionate

Never feeling so right, never feeling so true

Listening to the sound of her voice, sweet and trusting

Melodious in his ears, ever comforting, and always new

It then came upon him

“That’s it!”

And there in that moment there was a simple beautiful epiphany

Inside the boys head, on top that rickety old home he now began to see

“She’s shown me this wonderful meaning of life, all along she must've knew”

Why of course my darling, the answer is simple

The love, the happiness, the joy between us two

My reason for living, my meaning of life

What oh what could it possibly be?

Simply and perfectly
