Bruises Fade, Mother

by lauren   Jun 19, 2005

Bruises fade, Mother.
The memories remain.
The hurt lives in me.
Anger fills my heart.

Bruises fade, Mother.
Your face won't dissapear.
You damaged my inside,
With every tear filled of more sadness.

Bruises fade, Mother.
Everything you put me through,
has given me more strength.
I'm tougher because of you.

Bruises fade, Mother.
I was so young.
You couldn't take care of me.
You helped me build a wall
That I've kept up.

Bruises fade, Mother.
Thankyou for teaching me,
Never to back down.
Thankyou for making me the woman i am now.

Bruises fade, Mother but everything else remains the same.
