Mommy Please Stop Crying

by Beth   Jun 19, 2005

Mommy please stop crying
if daddy only knew
the pain that he had caused
when he had to leave you

mommy please stop crying
it wasn't by his choice
i know that he would smile now
if he could hear your voice

mommy please stop crying
stay strong for him like me
cuz daddy will be back some day
just wait and you will see

mommy please stop crying
daddy said he'd be home soon
he said he'd bring us presents
and a shinny red balloon

mommy please stop crying
where did daddy go?
I've been waiting patiently
but still no sign or show

mommy please stop crying
theres something youre not saying
I'm over 16 now
and I'm sick of the games we playing

mommy please stop crying
his love for us is true
and if theres anything you know
i should know it too

mommy now I'm crying
i wish that you would say
I'm really missing daddy
and thought he'd be back someday

mommy I've been crying
for the past 100 days
since i heard what you told Grama
i know hes there to stay

mommy please stop crying
i know that daddy's gone
and even if you will not say it
i guess I've known it all along

mommy dads in heaven
hes in a better place
and someday we will see him again
in heaven face to face

I love the strong emotion of the poem, first it starts from a low point, increasing unto the last stanza.

    Beautifully written, wonderful job!
