Waiting for Hope

by Angie   Jun 20, 2005

She sits there looking, far into the night
Looks for hope and comfort for her life
She waits for someone, to come and save her
Waiting....Chanting her prayer

She wishes upon a star....everyday praying
But slowly she is fading and her hope is dying
The once bright eyes are filled with fear
But she sheds no tears....

The faith she had is going astray
For it's washing away
She doesn't understand why life is this way
But she will pray, even will her dying day

She sits there on the window sill
Staring into the night....Waiting
Her hope is dieing, but she keeps faith
Chanting her prayer....Waiting.

*I wrote this one night while I was staring outside and looking at the full moon.

I think this poem relates to many people beacause sometimes we all wish that we lived somewhere else or had a different life, you know. And what better way then to wish upon a star.....Please rate and comment and tell me what you think. Thank you.

This was excellent, the imagery was fantastic and there was so much emotion and sadness that it really makes a person think. Well done.

It is a nice poem you wrote. I just cant help but notice the spelling of dying because you spelled it dieing. It's a good poem and I can relate to it. Keep writing!
