I tried to find words,
But I couldn’t.
No poem can fully describe him
Or the just he deserves
But he was my grandfather
He was like no other
To him, family was most important
Alongside with love, honor, kindness, respect and dignity
Growing up as a child
I wasn’t as behaved as I could have been
If I hadn’t been wild
Would he have stayed?
But No, he moved away to my aunt’s house.
She had hard wood floors...
So when he fell…
He was in need of hip surgery
The surgery went oh so well
Until the very end
The horrible news they had to tell…
This broken family shall never mend
My family began to weep
But not me.
All these feelings, inside I shall keep
I won’t allow anyone to see
I remember once he had told me
To look up at the stars,
There is my long lost grandmother
Watching over us all
So I’d sit outside
Staring at the sky
Wishing I’d had met
The one that died
So now whenever I stare up at the stars or sky,
I see two stars, standing side by side
Watching over us forever.
In my eyes neither of them shall ever die.
