My Love

by Tom Swart   Jun 20, 2005

My Love;

How softly your love
has come to me.
Like a warm ocean
your currents have
melted the glaciers
of my heart

Like busy bumble bees
your love has
swarmed around me.
You bring the nectar
of hope and fill me
with wild honey.

Like sunbeams
running on a forest floor,
your love has swirled
and curled around me.
The leaves of your thoughts
are bathed in this wash
that refreshes them.

Your love is like
a playful zephyr.
Its joyful fingers
caress the canopy
of my heart with
its soft gentle breezes.

Your love comforts
and mends me.
Your love mixes
its mortar
then fills my deepest
darkest voids.

Your love quenches
and fills me.
Its waves and swells
help shape the peaceful
bay where my
heart lies buoyed.

My love,
your love frees me.
Your love has found
and unwound
my souls tethers
and given it wings.

My love, you paint
my sky with clouds,
their rain drops grow
and fall on the garden
of the flowers for
life’s bouquet.

Finally my love,
you are a star lit sky.
Filling my darkness
with a shining light,
taking the shadows
of any doubt away.
