The Barrier (ode)

by OverlookedTruth   Jun 20, 2005

Save me from the Noise
The Yells, the Screams, the Torment
I’m not asking for your toys
A shield of noise is all I want to rent

When I slip them on
All I hear is Music
it sounds like the sweet sound of dawn
No parents, siblings, no one- not even the critic

These headphones are my barriers
Between serenity, and reality
For now, I want the music to be my carriers
To escape this world, and retain my sanity

I’m Free from your hold
I've left your bittersweet reality
I’m off to where is isn’t cold
Where life, has become a distant memory…
