That Tragic Night

by Britney   Jun 21, 2005

I told him not to do it, but he didn’t listen,
Now he’s gone and I’m the one reminiscing.
I tried to keep him from that fate,
But now he’s gone, it’s too late.

He was there through thick and thin,
Always was a true friend in the end.
He always made sure that I was all right,
He was the one that stayed with me through the night.

He was the one that wiped my tears away,
He always made sure I had a better day.
He was the one to stand by my side,
Never did he walk away, he kept his pride.

Now he’s gone, but I’m still here,
Left with our memories and this pain to bear.
If he had listened to me everything would be all right,
He wouldn’t have died that tragic night.

A poem of a gurl loosing her best friend to drugs and a gang.

Drugs and gang violence are definitley two of the worst things that society is fighting in urban areas. I've lost my share of friends and neighbors to this kind of lifestyle, and it's not the best to live through.
