The Day the World Ended

by Peter Williams   Jun 22, 2005

Twilight falls...
Heaven calls.
Where were you?
When the fate of the world was decided,
When heaven and hell collided.
Where were you?
The golden trumpets sounded,
And all was surrounded,
By flames,
By darkness,
By shadows,
By demons.
Where were you?
When the courage of men fell,
And all said a word of farewell.
Where were you?
In our bleakest hour,
The devil's rise to power.
Where were you?
When my spirit was broken,
Not a feeling went unspoken.
Where were you?
As the horsemen came,
Without warning,
Without mercy,
Without aim.
Where were you?
In the darkest night,
There was no ray of light.
Where were you?
Where was I?
In the blink of an eye...
It all was gone,
There was no hope,
There was no love,
There was nothing,
In the palest dawn.
Where were you?
The day the world ended.
