My only happy thought

My only happy thought

I wanted to write a poem
one filled with happy things
like rainbows and butterflies
and eagles soaring with there huge wings

But i couldn't think of anything happy
i had nothing good to say
so i sat here thinking
on this miserable day

So i thought i would write about my friends
but nothing came to mind
cause they point fingers and laugh
to me they were never kind

So i thought about him
that should bring a smile to my face
but it just reminds me of heartbreak
cause i can't have his embrace

But then a good thought came to my mind
one of a true friend
someone who is always there for me
someone on which i can depend

Someone who listens to all my stories
even if i tell them a thousand times
who looks past my faults
and all of my crimes

Someone who supports my dreams
and tells me i can succeed
someone who wipes away my tears
Someone who will never mislead

I thank God For this true friend
This friend changed my life
Helped me through my sorrow
and all of my strife

So now i guess i got my happy poem
all thanks to a wonderful friend
How truely great full i am
i don't think anyone could comprehend
