I’m trying to hold onto…

Today my friends and I were talking about relationships,
How they develop and how people should treat each other,
Then it hit me, hit me so hard,
All the memories that I’ve been holding together seemed to be falling apart.

I then thought of you,
Realizing how bad I treated you,
And you still stood by my side,
Your hand was always there to guide.

I thought of how your shoulder was always there for me,
How you held me in your arms and said, “Baby, everything will be all right”.
How you always knew how to cheer me up,
And how you always wiped my tears away.

But, I never realized then,
I though you did it because you wanted me to stay with you,
But, baby, I was wrong and forgot for a moment that you choose to do all those things for me,
Now that I have realized my mistakes,
I am holding onto those memories and trying to save them from breakin apart.
