One Less Storm

by Tom Swart   Jun 23, 2005

" One Less Storm "

Standing, my face looks into a winter wind.
A cold bitter wind.
My back bends against its force.
My eyes are blinded by the storm.
Their tears freeze upon my cheeks.
My hands, my feet my entire body
feels the cold as a disease numbing
my skin and slowing my heart.

And I wait.

I wait for the cold, the wind to stop,
I wait for the warmth of the sun to return ....
The air soon clears, the wind calms
And the sun rises.
All is still once again.
Once more I can see, breath and feel.
So I straighten my back and walk on...
Peace has come.
The storm " Love " is over.
