My Dearest Love

by Tom Swart   Jun 23, 2005

My dearest love

How long it has been since I've written You.
My pen finds your memories upon its face, and
writes my words of love. It flows as the rain
rolls from the roof above. Sounds of these
moments live as they have in other times.
Soft rain beating ever so gently upon my
heart add to its ever lasting visions of you.
I long so to feel your lips touching mine.
To drink of your love and to sip from your youth.
How small your face within my hands, How fresh
the glow from those beautiful brown eyes. The
smell of your skin is a scent sent from spring.
Oh how I pain for your love.
It has been an eternity since our last embrace.
And yet the memories of that time keep with me
fresh as this morning. The glow of those moments
shall never fade. In my heart live many memories
of those times when my heart was young and
surrounded by your love. I shall keep them always.
