Sister (AHR)

by sinister   Jun 24, 2005

We share not the same blood
Nor do we share the same home
We knew not each other for most of our lives
But in the short time that god has granted us thus far
I’m proud to be your brother

I have seen you in joy and I’ve seen you in sorrow
I’ve heard you cry and tried to share your pain
I have offered council when I can
And sis knowing you has made me a better man

It tares at my soul the pain that you bare
I want so much to be the big brother that can take away your fear
But I can’t just bully your hurt and make it stop hunting you

Don’t think that my title of ‘brother’ is one I take lightly
You are as important to me as any blood
Sis I can’t just take it all away
But I’ll try to be there when you need me

I’ll be the keeper of your secrets
When you need to let it all out
And comfort you as best I can when in doubt
