Road less taken

Road less taken
~~ ~~ ~~

Night has come.

The full moon emerges,
enhancing nature's beauty
The passing clouds
hinder not its radiance

This empty road.

The gentle breeze,
rustling the grass.
Crickets chirp sweetly
unseen to all of us

Please
Just don't let this moment pass.

The wind embraces you
as you turn your face up
to the moon's eternal glory
I wish to reach you
To trace those gentle curves
of your face
to touch those
hard worked hands
and feel your warmth through them
I want the wind
to embrace us both
I want to be part of your world
I am attracted to nature's silence
the wind sings me lullabies
I wish to fall asleep in your arms
and feel secure in a world
where the moon's beauty is corrupted
the wind's gentle touches misunderstood
the chirping of crickets dismissed

I forsee the bumps
on our road of life
sometimes this road has an emptiness
only we can fill in,
a road with bends
only we can drift together
I am aware that this road
is the one less taken

In your peaceful silence,
I am willing to be the streetlight
If that's too much of a nuisance
I will come to you as a firefly
I will aid you,
but not hope for too much
I wish to be part of your paradise
and not blind the radiance of your moon
to never hope to replace the ever loving wind
to not hope to sing to drown the crickets' sweet melodies
Let me join you
and appreciate all that
you are appreciating
But for now
I cannot stay for long
the distant noises
are calling for me

Your eyes are full of peace.

Momentarily drowned in the depths,
I am reluctant to leave
but I still have
a long empty street to walk
before I reach you
Long empty stretches accompanied
by memories of you,
crashing against me like tides
But...
I promise that
when I reach you

we will walk together,
side by side.
