Slipping

by dandy   Jun 24, 2005

Arm outstretched,
reaching for you.
Please take my hand;
Help me up.

I beg and plead with you
to come to my aid.

I'm barely hanging on as you look down upon me;
an unreadable but careless expression on your face.

.....Guess I don't mean as much to you as I thought.

My grip is slipping, but what's this?
A shadow from behind dissolves into a human figure;
......................him....................

Has he replaced me?
Is this what it's come to?

My hands scrape the rock as I desperately claw,
trying to get back up.
But I can't.........

This is it,
that's all there is; the end.
End of our friendship......

Never again will we be the same friends that we were before he was around.
