Desire

by Logan   Jun 25, 2005

A yearning to grieve
for a past kept
hidden
chambers of my heart
forever remain
forbidden
a need to break in
and experience pain once more
all I can seem to do
is stand looking at the door
God has offered
to escort me through
take his hand
is all I've been asked to do
I accept timidly
as I step through the threshold
he whispers gently
now is the time to be bold
my grip tightens
out of the dark emerges my deepest fear
and for the first time
finally safe under
the shadow of his wings
escape overdue tears

Ben Franklin once said – “it is easier to suppress the first desire than to satisfy all that follow it…”” I think he was right. Nice write bud – keep up the nice words
