I Tried So Hard

I tried to get you to love me
I tried to get you to care
I changed myself for you even though it got me no where

I tried so hard to make you understand what you meant to me
But all you understood was who you wanted me to change to be

I tried to let you know that some of the hurtful things I say to people, I do not mean
I know that I'm not perfect but I'm more then what I seem

I tried to get you to notice me..only trying to win your heart
I think you got the wrong impression of me..and it's tearing me apart

I tried to pretend that I was ok with the fact that I would never be good enough for you
Wishing that someday I would is all that I can do
