Tortured Creature

by Lushed   Jun 25, 2005

I pour my soul onto the page,
I set it all free.
For I have lost the will to handle,
This tortured creature dwelling in me.

Turn out the light.
Close your eyes tight.
And prepare to endure.
A losing fight.

Not a blink of an eye,
Would God bless upon me,
I must bear every minute
Of my misery.

A howl tumbles out
Erasing all doubt
That a monster lives within.
The tears roll down
And I'm shocked at what I've found.
For I expected the tears to be black.
Due to all the misery they hold.

The cars fly by
As I watch the black sky
Fade to a lighter blue.
The layers of morning,
Of orange and pink,
Greet me.
Not once, "Good Morning" do I think.
