How Can This Be?

My anger melted away.
And I feel a loss.
I mourn my rage.
Why is that so?

No longer
Can I hate you.
Loathe you.
Through and through.
I forgive you.

Yet I miss the surging hatred.
I long to have it back.
Please!
Answer my burning question:
How can this be?
