My Black World

by Lydie   Jun 25, 2005

Sometimes I feel I'm on a boat,
Floating far away,
But then my boat is tied to a pole,
Urging me to stay,

Stay and face the future,
Stay and face the past,
But I want to set sail again,
So I open up the mast,

I untie the rope,
For a journey out to sea,
A journey of peace and quiet,
A journey with just me,

But nightmares come,
While thoughts float by,
I realise I'm in trouble,
Now I really try,

Try to get back,
So my family can find me,
Back to the world,
That's all I want to see,

No more dreaming,
No more lies to you,
I want to get better,
That's all I want to do,

But now I'm trapped,
I can't get back,
I watch my world,
Fade to black.

This poem is fantastic, full of imagery and deep symbolism. It is truly a work of art. Very well done.
