The Reason

This is for someone who made me want to look up at the sky and dream once more.

For so long had I forgotten
How it was to feel happiness

My days of summer had gone
Into winter’s ice and coldness

Years went on like an eternity
That of a vampire’s curse

And along I just swept by
Without care or remorse

There was nothing to live for
Half of me ceased to exist

Whilst the other part didn’t bother
Like a face never seen twice on a street

Lost in a deep slumber until the sun shone
And warmed the heart’s frost

As spring brings new life and hope
So to a woman such as I whose faith was lost

Gone are the days of misery
Together with the river of blood and tears

The tragic past remains only a memory
Locked away and to be gone through never

For I have found the arms to lay
My head and rest peacefully

Never shall I run nor hide nor tarry
And no longer shall I despair and cry

Because it is in you that I breathe
And the soul reason why I live.
