Decision in Three

by abcede   Jun 26, 2005

She stood and looked down at the sea
Decision made in count of three
It's not like anyone would mind
Everyone she knew was blind
blind to everything she felt
blind to things that made her melt
like unfilled promises and lies
like losing all her family ties
ties like when her daddy beat her
ties like the way mom would treat her
she'd hide behind her closet door
she'd scream to daddy "please no more"
no more bruises, lies, and pain
no more living deep in vain
hating everyone she saw
hating that her skin was raw
raw from beatings late at night
raw from putting up a fight
fighting so no pain would sear
fighting for not one more tear
tears full of pain, loss, and strife
tears full of not wanting life
now looking down upon the sea
she decided death in three

Nice poem with great rhyming lexis used. Very cohesive poem. I would suggest you to structure your poem in stanzas.
