We drank and drank
till my heart got heavy
i was stumbling for you
i thought i was ready
for anything that could happen
between us together
but then we were interrupted
this life never steadies.
a good friend of mine
nearly passed away
because of the alcohol we drank
his body started to sway.
he missed the chair collapsed to the floor
we called his parents
we didn't know what to do anymore.
he was sent to the hospital
and we worried as he lied in the bed
with nurses around him
while we sat there and prayed.
the tears they ran down
our eyes became wet
we thought he was gone,
gone forever.
but then he woke up
heart beat was steady
said he'd never drink again
until his body was ready.
he was too young to die
as God realized.
he learnt his lesson
and so have I.
