4wheeler 4ever

by Nicole   Jun 27, 2005

"Are you ready?"
She asks.
I take off my shoes
knowing they would get dirty.

"Heck yes!"
I reply.
She sits down,
turns on the gas.

Off we go, my best friend and I,
over the hill and into the forest.
On the bumpy track,
we both let out a happiness cry.

It was the best feeling,
the freedom we had.
The mud flinging by
as we went wheeling.

It had rained
puddles there are
we fly through them
we are not pained.

No one can stop us,
it is just me and her.
the wind in our face,
mud is our greatness.

We decide it's about time to get off.
Mud everywhere,
our clothes, face, and 4wheeler.
We look as though we are very tough.

We laugh about it, as we hose ourselves down,
and say to ourselves,
"That's the best thing in the summer,
we've ever done."

    Great poem! I enjoyed it.
My family and I go 4 wheeling a lot. We usually go more in spring or fall because it is sooo hot in the summer with the helmet on. Playing in the mud is the BEST!! I am always the muddiest one... LOL

Anyway, that was really good. Keep them coming :)

Ha, i'e always wanted to try four-wheeling. Heard it was extremely fun....

At first, i thought you were rhyming the first and last line in each stanza. But the last three stanzas proved me wrong (maybe you can change it around a bit?). All in all, it was a good poem. Poetry drawn from personal experiences, are always a treat.
