Losing Grip

by Alyson Mary   Jun 27, 2005

Every minute of every day gets harder and harder to take.
You want to give up and let go but you know that would be a mistake.
The door is left open for the decision to be made,
and its slithering through your dreams like a poisonous snake.

The thought runs over and over in your head.
Why didn't you just do it and get it over with to prove that you're a real man.
Thats just is you're not a man, you're a kid, and in your mind, that is something you have yet to find, in this world you are going to leave behind.

You're at the bridge ready to jump.
Your hearts racing and no one is there to yell STOP!
It's all up to you, every last bit.
Either you learn to deal or simply just quit.
You take one last look at your mothers picture, and set it down.
You can't bare to see her face when she finds out that you've gone.

You have not one doubt as you inhale in, and exhale out.
You let go of the rail and fall for only second.
Then you're pulled through the ground to a place you know is not heaven.
You look back only once to realize what you've done.
It's a web of pain that you have spun.
