The Pool Of Life

by Alyson Mary   Jun 27, 2005

When you are born your elders shed many tears of happiness, tears that fill the pool of life.

Throughout childhood you plunge into that pool many times, all for a different reason.

As you move into your teenage years your plunges become dives that cause a big splash and everything gets wet, but only you can choose to clean it up.

When you become an adult those splashing dives become quick swims that could be longer, but you never seem to have the time.

As you become a senior those quick swims slowly fade into just dipping a toe into the water and coming to the conclusion that it's too cold, but maybe later it will warm up.

When your life starts to slow down you start to take your tow out of the water and back away as you watch the pool dry up.

Life on earth has ended for you. As it's time for your new beginning you look back at your life and wish you would have taken that plunge everyday not thinking of the outcome, the time, or the cold, but the joys and surprises the pool of life has in store for you.

All it took was a plunge.
