I wrote this for one of the poetry games on 6-26-05
As I sit here deep in the night
The fly that was on the window
Did take flight
It flew up and around
I watched my cat try
To pin it down
I watched her scooch forward
On her belly like all cat's do
Then she would pounce
And away the fly flew
I watched my cat jump up
Then flop down
She spotted that fly again
And started spazzing out
She jumped and flipped
In the air
The fly was buzzing around
Like it just didn't care
Sooner or later
my cat would get tired
And then the fly would be free
To fly out the window
So with this story
I leave behind
The flies win over my cat
Every time
