Mirror

by Tiffy   Jun 28, 2005

I look in the mirror,
I hate what I see
Who is this girl,
gazing back at me?
Her big green eyes,
dull with pain
Her wavy brown hair,
messy and lame
Her mouth does not smile,
It frowns oh-so sad
Her voice does not cry,
for the losses she's had
She pinches her middle,
disgusted with the fat
No more eating, she says,
She is done with that
Her throat aches,
from tears left uncried
She closes her eyes,
Squeezing the tears goodbye
Her heart aches from lost hope,
dangling by one last thread
Pumping in such pain,
re-living what they all said
She's suprised she's still breathing,
When she wants to give up
The pain that overwhelms her,
Seems so abrupt
That's when I realized,
Thsi pained, ugly girl
Disgusted with herself,
Her life like dead petals starting to curl
Was a reflection,
Of myself
