Dreams

I dream a dream,
Where there's only you and me,
We get along quite happily,
In this land of dreams.

And in my dream we're smiling,
Having fun like anyone,
And everyone to us is dead,
For we only need each other.

It isn't hard to see,
that I think you should be with me,
We'd get along just famously,
But it was never meant to be...

This happy dream,
Is happy only for me,
For this isn't your dream,
It's only my own.

And in your dream,
For in your turn you dream,
Dreaming of another,
Another who is not I.

But I can dream,
And dream I will,
You can be sure,
I dream of you:
