A Thousane Years from Understanding Me

by Kae   Jun 28, 2005

I cried a thousand tears tonight,
The tears you thought weren’t real,
They fell like blood dripping from my soul,
And for once caused me to feel,

We are two worlds apart,
Our minds go separate ways,
You’re standing in your light,
And I’m a thousand miles away,

I’m the shadow in your dreams,
The darkness in your light,
I’m what causes your pain within,
You know I’m always right,

Fire setting ablaze my soul,
Burning it to the end,
You picked the pieces of me apart,
Until there was nothing left,

Expecting me to be some bright light,
Glowing through the absence,
Giving all perfection to those,
Who encountered my presence,

You know who I’ll be and who I’ll stay,
But you won’t bare the truth,
Living in a surreal world,
Where there is happiness and eternal youth,

This is me, I will not change,
As the blood flows from my veins,
Try and change me, or take away,
All of life’s lies and stains.
