Broken Wings

by Kae   Jun 28, 2005

Broken wings,
That never will fly,
Crawling on the floor,
Watching as I died,

Twisted inside out,
Scarred to the bone,
Wearing a mirrored mask,
To keep the truth unshown,

Always drowning,
In your own tears,
Kept from living,
By your haunting fears,

Hating the reflection,
With its glaring eyes,
But inside you,
I could always hide,

Cutting deeper,
To feel within,
The bitter darkness,
Kept in my skin,

Feeling worthless,
And incomplete,
Set a thousand tears back,
By my own defeat,

Kept from ordinary eyes,
Inferior to your highness,
Crying at your feet,
Sewn lips and blindness,

There are no wishes,
That can save me,
No redemption of your sins,
Nothing to repay me.
