One drink too many

by katie!   Jun 29, 2005

Reminiscing the times when I thought you had sense
I didn't really see that you would destroy what we had built
Drinking away the days, smoking away the hours
Burning the memories on the patchwork quilt

You think I am too sensible, I know you want to have fun
Indeed, the world wishes to have fun every day
But fun cannot be bought with money or alcohol
For the happiness and merriment soon fades away

One time is all it will take, one drink too many
I don't want a call at 3 am telling me bad news
One drink too many, and life can be snatched away
I will pick up the pieces, but I don't want to be in those shoes

Intelligence lost with idiocy filled spliffs and bottles
Wasting the path we worked so hard to lay out
Acting up and making a fool or yourself in full view
Drunken hypocrisy as you scream and shout

Wasting your lives, but what can I do
I know you believe I want to take away your smiles and fun
But when you fell I caught you, when you cry I help
It only takes one drink too many, remember only one
